Many of our pets have teeth just like us. Just as our teeth require care and maintenance, so too do our pet’s teeth. Unfortunately, most pet owners only consider their pet’s dental health when problems arise. We recommend you discuss your pet’s dental health at each yearly wellness exam and plan for routine dental cleanings in order to keep your pets healthy and pain free. Our dental services include scaling and polishing the teeth, periodontal evaluation, and dental radiographs (x-rays), just like when you go to the dentist: however, our patients won’t hold still for this care and must be placed under
general anesthesia. Most pets receiving dental cleanings will require some teeth to be surgically extracted. 

Dental extractions can be difficult and time consuming. In order to minimize patient risks and trauma, we limit our dental procedures to 2 hours. A few of the more major dental procedures will need to be staged into two separate anesthetic events.
